An Essay about Technological Change

There have been Technological changes over the past 100 years (e.g. electricity, motorised transport, aircraft, space exploration, medical advances, computer technology)

Significant changes seems likely in the coming century, esp. in the following 3 areas: information technology; biotechnology; alternative energy sources. Computer technology has developed rapidly in the past few decades (e.g. Bill Clinton became US pres. in Jan 1993 - only 50 webpages on the Internet!) This is still likely to be a major area of change in the coming decades: e.g. computerised houses, where your fridge can be programmed to order fresh milk there are likely to be important changes.

Biotechnology is likely to be the first area of significant change Genetically modified crops will be grown in climates that were previously impossible (e.g. wheat in semi-arid areas and tropical fruits in the far north) and will have higher yields than in the past … Livestock will be modified to produce higher yields of milk and meat. Human beings will be modified to eliminate inherited diseases.

A major challenge facing the world at the end of the 20th century = global warming resulting from man-made pollution important changes It is likely that alternative energy sources will soon be exploited more seriously dramatic changes Solar, wind and wave energy invented Nuclear energy? Perhaps we will abandon high-speed vehicles and accept slower, more energy-efficient ones?

In conclusion, we can expect major changes in the areas of IT, biotechnology and energy use.

One should never give up.

Well I think a person should never give up in our life because they are many people that fight for their life and also if you want to fight for something that you really want you have to fight for it and never give up.

They are to many famous people that never give up one example is Alex Rodriguez when he was a child he use to have many problems with his family he was born here in the United States. When he was 1 year old he went to live to the Dominican Republic. Than when he turn 14 years he came back to New York he said he’s dream was to be a Baseball player when he was like 10 years old he said that his dream was to be a baseball player, well his dream came truth.

When he was 5 years old he started to play baseball in parks and stuff like that. Since 1996 his first full season through 2007 he leads the Major Leagues in home runs HR, runs scored, runs batted in RBI. Alex Rodriguez has been cited as among the best all around players currently in baseball. In 2007 Alex Rodriguez announced the signing of a new 10-year contract with the Yankees, reportedly worth $275 million and $30 million more if he breaks the all time home run record of 762.

Alex Rodriguez has been thought many problems for example when he was a little kid, he use to rob in super markets and in store one time the policy saw him doing that and they took him to the policy station he was a poor little boy when that happened he was like 12 years old they put him in jail like for 3 weeks than they took him out he has been thought a lot of problems with his mom and also with his family but he always say in his mind that he should never give up in his life.

In conclusion, Alex Rodriguez was a strong person who dint never give up he fought for what he really wants and for his family also now he became a famous baseball player one of the most famous baseball player in the world.
